Pastor Daniel and Sue Im

While wrestling over daunting questions of life’s meaning and purpose, Pastor Daniel first set foot in Berkland Baptist Church (from which Life Baptist Church was later started, see Our History) in 1983 as a junior at UC Berkeley. He found the answers he was looking for in the Bible and became a Christian soon thereafter. After completing his graduate studies in Biophysics, Pastor Daniel committed his life to full-time ministry with a profound desire to minister to college students and young adults, and share the joy that he discovered in Jesus Christ. Whether preaching on Sundays, teaching Bible studies, leading hiking expeditions, or offering words of advice, his heart for God and his love for people are both unmistakable and contagious.

Pastor Daniel’s wife, Sue, committed her life to Jesus in her junior year of college. Soon after, she began her computer programming career in Silicon Valley and has many testimonies of experiencing God as a young adult and sharing the gospel with her friends and coworkers in SV and in LA. She currently works at UCLA, and personally spearheads the Married Careers Group ministry and JOYland Children’s Ministry. Sit down with her for a cup of coffee and a chat, and her warmth and candor will refresh and encourage you.

Pastor Daniel and Sue have two children, Christopher and Jonathan, and live in Culver City. Their home is always open for a visit.
